I have been flying kites just about all my life. However, I got serious 12 years ago when I joined Wings Over Washington kite club (WOW). I flew dual line kites at first but the first time I helped Paul Dugard fly a Sutton 252 I was hooked on BIG kites. Paul quickly became my new mentor and after a year of flying small kites WOW turned the clubs big kites over to me, which I proudly flew. I started my personal collection off with a "Go Fly 252" and later a "Sutton 450". Soon after that the guys in the club started calling me “Mr. go big or go home ." In the back of my mind I wanted to do a seascape of large kites. When I saw the Martin Lester 45’ diver I knew my dreams could come true. My vision came to me at the 2002 AKA convention with the purchase of the 45' diver. It has taken me a few years but my collection has grown larger with lobsters, fish, whales, octopuses and more. My last addition was a 130 foot octopus. Now that's a big kite!
